Pirate Radio Report, July 1999

Hello and welcome to the July edition of the PIRATE RADIO REPORT. In case you didn’t notice there was no report in The Journal last month. Sorry! A busy schedule and a family illness got in the way.

The 1999 Pirate Popularity Poll

The results are in and the winner this year is:

RADIO METALLICA WORLDWIDE! Yes, the station run by Dr. Tornado has won again! Of all the votes received, this station garnered over 70% of them. Many of those responding complained that programming content was not the best but the strong signal quality made up for other shortcomings. Congratulations to Dr. Tornado, Sr. El Nino and Jade.

There were no clear second or third place winners this year, but stations deserving honorable mention include WACK RADIO, KMART Radio, Blind Faith Radio [nice QSL card!], Radio Azteca and Radio Eclipse.

Many thanks to all those responding and to the stations nominated.
